LAHORE (Staff Report) – Pakistan has been ranked second to download the recently released Furious-7 (alternatively known as Fast and the Furious 7) following its neighbor India, claimed a piracy monitoring organization on Tuesday.
The movie has been downloaded for 2.59 million times during the first week of its release via torrents which violate the legal rights of distribution worldwide.
According to the organization India is ranked at number one with 578,000 downloads in the week whereas its traditionally rival country Pakistan is second with 321,000 downloads.
China and United States are ranked third and fourth with 289,000 and 251,000 downloads. United Kingdom took over the fifth position as 101,000 illegal downloads were traced in the country.
Furious-7 is believed to be a great attraction as it made a business of $146.5 million in the United States and $391.6 million worldwide during the first of its release.
Earlier “Fifty Shades of Grey” was downloaded for 300,000 times in its opening week in February 2015. “Guardians of the Galaxy” — one of the top-grossing films of 2014 — had about 200,000 pirated downloads over its first weekend.
