LAHORE (Web Desk) – Section 144 has been imposed all across Punjab to maintain law and order during the second phase of Local Government elections. Punjab Home Department has issued a letter to security institutions in this regard.
The letter asks to ensure that Section 144 is implemented in all the districts of the province by December 12 and that besides the voters more than five people would not be allowed to stand in a group within 300 meters of the polling stations. Display of both licensed and not licensed arms will not also be allowed while those involved in aerial firing to celebrate win will be arrested, abbtakk.com cited.
Punjab Home Department has also imposed a ban on election rallies to ensure law and order.
