PSL 2018, Match 28: Islamabad defeat Quetta by 6 wickets, equal record for consecutive PSL wins

SHARJAH – Opener JP Duminy’s 54 off 47 took Islamabad United to the winning stand by six wickets in the match against Quetta Gladiators at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.

United chased the 148 run target in 18.2 overs.

Middle-order batsman assisted the opener with his 28 runs, including two sixes and fours each.

Rahat Ali picked two wickets while Shane Watson and Mir Hamza picked one.

Gladiators’ pacers; Mir Hamza, Rahat Ali and Shane Watson, provided a breakthrough to the United by dismissing the top order of Sarfraz-led team.

Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed smashed 43 runs off 30 balls to take Quetta Gladiators to 147 runs total, in the match against Islamabad United at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

All-rounder Fahim Ashraf took three wickets for 19 runs, while Ammad Butt picked two.

Quetta Gladiators won the toss and opted to bat against Islamabad United at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium tonight.

The start to the Gladiators’ innings was nothing special. Both Shane Watson and Jason Roy departed early — setbacks due to which they had just 36 runs on the board after 6 overs.

United started on a high note as within six overs, Samit Patel and Amad Butt, broke Gladiator’s opening stand.

Islamabad United have already cemented their spot in the top two and will be playing the playoff on Sunday after Peshawar Zalmi avoided elimination (for now) with a 44-run win over Karachi Kings earlier today.

Quetta have made one change as Rameez Raja has been left out for Umar Amin. Islamabad United are unchanged.
