Free Birth Registration Approved In Sindh To Aid Marginalized Communities

KARACHI – Prioritizing birth certificates is much needed in Pakistan as it establish legal identity, facilitate access to essential services, and support accurate statistical and policy planning.

To streamline process, Sindh government announced free birth registration services across region. The initiative aims to simplify the process and make it more accessible, particularly for marginalized communities in country of 242 million.

By ending registration fees, it will be easier for low-income families to register their children.

Sindh government members highlighted that this move will help gather precise demographic information, offering long-term benefits and ensuring that everyone in Sindh has an official legal identity.

A birth certificate is important for proving identity, accessing essential services, and securing legal rights. It aids in government planning, prevents identity fraud, and provides valuable historical and genealogical records.
