Dolores O Riordan dead: The Cranberries​ lead singer dies aged 46

LONDON – The lead singer of ‘The Cranberries’ (an Irish rock band formed in 1989), Dolores O’Riordan died suddenly at the age of 46. The band’s international successes include single like ‘Linger’ and ‘Zombie’.

Dolores’s publicist released a statement that says: “The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session.”

It was said further about her sudden death that: “No further details are available at this time.”

It was a shock for her band mates as they tweeted:

“We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today.”

Over the course of their career, The Cranberries sold more than 40 million albums worldwide as they shot to fame in 1993 with their debut album “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?”
