ISLAMABAD – Pakistan junior squash team got off a winning start as they notched up two back-to-back victories in the 19th Asian Junior Squash Championship that kicked off in Pattaya, Thailand on Wednesday.
In their first pool match, they got a convincing 3-0 win against Chinese Taipei, according to information received here.
Farhan Hashmi found Huang Liang an easy rival to record an impressive 11-3, 11-2, 11-4 victory.
Compatriot Abbas Zeb registered an emphatic triumph, thrashing Chenwun-Lin 11-2, 11-7, 11-0 in the second encounter.
In the third contest, Haris Qasim overcame Cho Ching by a score-line 11-3, 11-2, 11-1.
In their second match, they outperformed Sri Lanka by 3-0.
Abbas Zeb overwhelmed Tuwin Osanda 11-4, 11-4, 11-5, while Haris Qasim defeated Druvinka Manura 11-5,11-3, 11-4. Hamza Khan edged passed Hashen Demantah 11-3, 11-9, 11-6.
Pakistan will take on Korea and traditional rivals India in their third and fourth fixtures.
