NH MP holds road safety seminar in Lahore

LAHORE – National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) organised a seminar here on Monday to create awareness about road safety laws among the public.

Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema addressed the seminar titled “Emergency response in crisis-like situations”. He said that highways and motorways should never be blocked by protesters as it causes numerous problems for common citizens.

Inspector General NH&MP Allah Dino Khowaja briefed the audience about the performance of the Motorway Police which turned it into an ‘Icon of Excellence’.

In the seminar, Clinical Psychologist Ms Nazia Bashir highlighted the psychological impact of crisis situation such as vandalism, roads blocks, accidents and related disasters on the public.

At the end of the ceremony, the chief guest distributed prizes among officers of NH&MP who performed exceptionally well during discharge of their official duties.

Additional IG Khalid Mehmood, CCPO Lahore Add IG, BA Nasir, DIG Central Zone Ahmad Arslan Malik, DG Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer, SSP Masroor Alam Kolachi, SSP Rana Iyaz Saleem and renowned writer/novelist Amna Mufti and a large number of people from all segment of society attended the event.
