It should be no surprise to anyone who’s watched You that Joe Goldberg(Penn Badgley) is one twisted dude, but apparently, the Netflix series has only displayed minor disturbing lengths he’s willing to go to satisfy his obsessions.
According to You showrunner Sera Gamble, the upcoming season is even more twisted than the first.
“I would say that season 2 of You, kind of, double down on some of the stuff that you might come to expect,” she told Us Weekly. “Moving the show to Los Angeles brought out a whole different side of Joe Goldberg.”
“You will know it when you see it. Episode 2 of the season has my single favorite shot that I have been a part of in my entire career,” she said in another interview with TV Guide. “My career is full of blood and gore and monsters. It’s also beautifully shot and the director who shot the second episode lavished a lot of love. Joe is forced to do something he really doesn’t want to do.”

Joe will pack his bags and travel cross-country from New York to the City of Angels for Season 2.
Season 2 will feature a few new faces, including Jenna Ortega and James Scully have as Ellie, a teen who “grew up fast in the big city,” and Forty Quinn, the charming, bullish brother of Joe’s new love interest, named Love Quinn. She was also seen as The Haunting of Hill House’s Victoria Pedretti and is described as “uninterested in the world of social media, branding, and self-promotion, focused instead on leading an interesting life. She is also tending to deep grief, and when she meets Joe Goldberg, she senses a shared knowledge of profound, life-changing loss.” In other words, she’d better watch out.’
You is a series adaptation of the novels of Caroline Kepnes. Season 1 relayed the story of her eponymous novel, while Season 2 will reportedly adapt the sequel, Hidden Bodies.
There is no official release date for season two as of yet but it is to premiere sometime in 2020.
