Army chief, Chinese diplomats discuss regional security

RAWALPINDI – The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou on Tuesday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting was also attended by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing where the mutual interest of both countries was discussed.

The diplomats lauded Pakistan Army’s contributions to peace and stability in the region, ISPR added.

On November 17, Chinese Special Envoy for Afghanistan Ambassador Deng Xijun called on General Bajwa to discuss matters of mutual interest including regional security issues with particular emphasis on Pak-Afghan border management and counter-terrorism efforts came under discussion during the meeting.
