QUETTA – At least two people were left dead while 16 others were left injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Balochistan’s capital, Quetta on Tuesday.
The explosion took place at the city’s Eastern Bypass area a few minutes ahead of Maghrib prayer after unknown miscreants planted the explosive device in a motorcycle and parked it outside a medical store.
The injured ones were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta and an emergency was declared in the hospital; Quetta DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema detailed that two victims of the blast succumbed to their injuries while on their way to the hospital.
The police officer explained that the motive behind the attack was yet to be ascertained.
