SHARJAH — The 37th edition Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) will starts from October 31 to November 10 and visitors can take part in a variety of art workshops and events, during which they will be introduced to visual techniques that highlight the aesthetics of motion picture and illustration.
The fair will have something for everyone, young and old, and boasts a plethora of workshops on visual art, performance art, and sculpture that visitors can take try a hand to explore their artistic talents.
During a workshop titled ‘3D Printing’ participants will be offered a virtual experience in creative design and printing. Another workshop, called ‘The Language of Drawing’, will help children create innovative stories, hone their artistic capabilities and develop their abilities to express ideas artistically.
During a workshop titled ‘Motion Arts’, visitors can learn the ‘Stop Motion’ technique, utilising cameras on their smartphones. Children have a unique opportunity to delve into the interesting world of 3D drawing at the ‘3D Drawing’ workshop. At another workshop, titled ‘Living Drawing’, they will reflect on fun times, while creating vibrant cartoon characters.
At a workshop titled ‘Sandy Drawings’, participants will create designs and drawings using coloured sand. Meanwhile, the ‘Extraordinary Energies’ workshop will teach children to use their imagination to explore their inner energies and learn how to express their ideas.
Participants in the ‘Light Drawings’ workshop will learn how to use digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras to create fantastic pictures, while the ‘Artificial Intelligence’ workshop will focus on the importance of AI in building a prosperous future and exploring space.
