PSL 2018: Peshawar beat Islamabad by 34 runs in 4th match

DUBAI – Umaid Asif and Ibtisam Sheikh took Peshawar Zalmi to a 34-run win over against Islamabad United at the Dubai International Stadium here on Saturday.

For Zalmi, Asif got four wickets while Sheikh three as the defending PSL champions overpowered the Misbah XI in all aspects of the game.

Kamran Akmal and Tamim Iqbal set the foundation for the team’s innings, blasting boundaries all over the ground and put up a score of 176 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The innings saw Akmal scoring 53 from 32 deliveries and Tamim Iqbal chipping in with 39 from 29 balls.

Faheem Ashraf was the pick of the United bowlers claiming two wickets. Rumman Raees is leading the Islamabad United as Misbahul Haq is resting after a hamstring injury today, according to Cricinfo. This is the fourth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018.

Second Innings

United’d Chadwick Walton, Luke Ronchi, Asif Ali and Hussian Talat depart early as Misbah’s XI struck in a serious problem in their first match .

Zalmi lost to debutants Multan Sultans in the opening match of the tournament on Thursday as Sultans, playing their first ever PSL, trounced Darren Sammy’s XI by seven wickets.

Kamran Akmal gave a good start to defending champions. He scored a 32-ball 53 before departing in this fashion.
