RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa installed Lieutenant General Sher Afgun as Colonel Commandant of AK Regiment during his visit to Azad Kashmir Regimental Centre on Thursday.
According to a communique issued by the military’s media wing, outgoing Colonel of AK Regiment Lieutenant General Hidayat ur Rehman, Retd, Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar, a large number of serving and retired officers and soldiers attended the ceremony.

Upon arrival, the military chief laid floral wreath at martyrs monument; he appreciated the contributions and sacrifices of AK Regiment for the defence of motherland during conventional as well as in war against terrorism.
A few days back, the military chief had installed Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder as Colonel Commandant of NLI Regiment.
