Passion of modelling denied Abeera’s life

LAHORE (Web Desk) – The animal inside some males and wild desire turns them into ruthless cold-blooded killers in some cases. A 20-year old fashion model from Sialkot, Abeera Iqbal aka Areeba, was found dead with her body stuffed in a suitcase dumped at a bus stand in Sherakot, Lahore. She was living in Lahore while modeling was her passion.

The body was discovered on January 13 this year but the slain girl was finally identified as Abeera by her brother recently and a case was opened afterwards. The girl was strangulated to death by someone after a sexual assault, according to autopsy. There is also speculation of her dying due to overdose of drugs and no wound-mark has been found on her body.

Abeera’s family has naturally met a great shock and unable to get over with their loss. A backstory lies behind this horrible incident. It is said that her passion led her to a so-called stylist or make-up artist Uzma Rao alias Tooba’s house, where a man allegedly strangled her after a sexual assault. Police arrested Tooba when she was detected in the CCTV footage recorded by the surveillance cameras on the bus stand.

Police has found a lead to other members of gang as well and have arrested a worker of a private bank named Farooq who is under interrogation. According to police this is an organized gang but the crooks have made good their escape, hence there is difficulty in apprehending them but efforts are in process. Earlier it was claimed that Abeera was a student of Punjab University but the Registrar denied this report.

Abeera’s father Muhammad Iqbal Bhatti is a widower. She had three siblings, amongst which are two brothers, Javed and Zohaib Iqbal Bhatti and one sister Uzma. Justice is the only thing her family wants!
