St. PETERSBURG: St. Petersburg’s skies were lit up in honor of high-school graduates from all over Russia.
Russian high school graduates flock every June to the historic city to take part in spectacular end-of-school celebrations.
The festivities included concerts, a multimedia show and the appearance of a ship, an old-time brigantine.
The singers who performed at the occasion were chosen by high school students’ votes.
Some 1,800 policemen were responsible for security at the festival.
The event was first held back in 1968, but the tradition was interrupted soon after. The festival was then resumed in 2002.
