Pakistan complete first T20I whitewash against Australia

DUBAI – Pakistan beat Australia while defending 150 plus runs in the third and final T20I match in Dubai, UAE on Sunday.

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bat first in the third T20I, setting a target of 151.

Chasing a decent target Australia failed 33 runs short as they were bowled out for 117 in 19.1 overs.

Babar Azam was declared the Man of the Series as he scored 163 runs in the series with two half-centuries; Shadab Khan was announced as the Man of the Match for taking 3 wickets.

Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman were replaced by Usman Shinwari and Sahibzada Farhan for the final encounter.

Australia brought in offspinner Nathan Lyon in place of seamer Billy Stanlake.

The green shirts had not lost a Twenty20 game in the shortest format since Sarfraz Ahmed took the charge as captain.

Pakistan beat Australia by 11 runs in the second fixture to clinch its 10th consecutive Twenty20 International series.

The side humbled the Kangaroos by 66 runs in the opening game of the series.
