Imran Khan threatens to launch street movement against rumored NRO

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has warned ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of launching street agitation in case it attempts to strike another National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

Addressing a press conference at his Bani Gala residence on Friday, the PTI chief expressed that the masses were ready to take to the street in case another agreement is made, referring to the recent trip of CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia.

The PTI supremo said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif’s ideology was nothing but to accumulate wealth by corruption and that he was resorting to graft through his ‘frontmen’, who according to him were his sons, Hussain Nawaz working in Saudi Arabia and Hassan in London.

He continued that Saeed Sheikh and Saifur Rehman were Nawaz’s ‘frontmen’ in the United States (US) and Qatar respectively.

“It is all a mafia. They are all involved in corruption,” the PTI chief alleged and questioned from where Ishaq Dar was getting all the money from?

“Ishaq Dar has 11 companies in Dubai. Hussain Nawaz and Safdar are also employees of these companies,” claimed the PTI chairman.

He further said Nawaz, Maryam and PML-N’s ministers are attacking the judiciary but hastened to add that the courts should not feel any pressure from this ‘mafia’.

He assured the courts that the entire nation stood with the judiciary adding that action should be taken against them (Sharifs) or the contempt of court law should be abolished.

Imran said he had been waiting for Nawaz to start his ‘campaign for justice’ taking a jibe that ‘these [two] brothers are starting the campaign in Saudi Arabia.’

Comparing his London flat with that of Sharif-owned Avenfield apartments, the PTI chief said he provided the courts with all the documents that they asked for but all they [Sharif family] have is a Qatari letter to furnish for the ‘billions of rupees they have looted from this nation.

He added that the Sharifs were afraid of accountability which is why they were creating so much hue and cry.

The PTI chairman also questioned why the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was not pursuing the corruption in the Multan Metro project.

He also said Shehbaz Sharif cannot save himself from the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case.

Referring to the Model Town incident and his ‘alliance’ with PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Imran said it is a humanitarian issue and he will always stand by PAT in raising voice against the injustice.
