President Arif Alvi visits slain Ali Raza Abidi’s family for condolence

KARACHI – President Dr Arif Alvi Saturday visited the family of former lawmaker Ali Raza Abidi, who was assassinated in Karachi, to express condolence over the tragic incident.

The president prayed for peace of the departed soul and courage for the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude; he also directed the security agencies to accomplish their investigation at the earliest and apprehend the culprits.

Ali Raza Abidi was assassinated outside his house in the Khayaban-e-Ghazi area of Karachi on Tuesday. A CCTV footage shows two assailants chasing the former lawmaker before repeatedly opening fire at him that severely injured him.

The politician succumbed to his wounds after he was rushed to a hospital. The law enforcement agencies have started a probe into the killing and as per the preliminary investigations, the weapon used in the murder of Abidi had been used earlier as well.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and Sindh Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah had taken notice of the incident and sought a report. They condoled with the family members as well.
