MURREE – The Punjab government has thrown open the ultra luxurious Government House Murree to public in continuation of the austerity drive promised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Addressing a ceremony in this regard, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar urged the need for promotion of tourism in Punjab for prosperity of the province.
“Soon Punjab will be a hub of tourism. For all those interested in history, culture, art and craft and the treasures that this land offers. The government looks at tourism not just as a soft image of Pakistan but also as a key source of revenue generation,” the chief minster said in his address on Monday.

We have already opened 177 Govt rest-houses of different departments. These facilities are a reminder for public about how our taxes were misused for lavish lifestyle of previous rulers, the chief minister said in a tweet.
Chief Spokesperson of Usman Buzdar, Dr Shahbaz Gill also took to social media and shared videos of different sections of the government house Murree, taking aim at the previous rulers.

‘I want to show you how public money was robbed off,’ Shahbaz said and added that Rs 600 million was spent for renovating the place.
The spokesman said citizens can book the place through the website to be used as any other hotel.
