PM Imran to be given unprecedented reception on his arrival to Pakistan today

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers have been geared up to give unprecedented welcome to Prime Minister Imran Khan as he arrives in Islamabad on Sunday evening following his historic address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

In a tweet, the party Chief Organiser Saifullah Khan Niazi has asked party workers to reach the New Islamabad International Airport in the afternoon to accord PM Imran with an unprecedented welcome.

PTI senior leader Jahangir Khan Tareen has also took to Twitter and urged the party workers to attend the reception for the prime minister.

“PM IK fought Kashmir’s case like a true hero. His unequivocal speech at the UNGA helped transform Pakistan’s image globally. Let’s celebrate this win by giving him a hero’s welcome tomorrow. 5 p.m, at the New Islamabad Airport. Don’t forget to be there,” he said.

Meanwhile, the prime minister, accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, was seen off at New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi.

The prime minister left New York onboard a commercial flight after his plane developed a technical fault on Friday night.

PM Imran along with Pakistani delegates has reached Jeddah. The premier will land in Islamabad Airport at 5:10 pm by Saudi Airline.
