LAHORE (Web Desk) – The government on Saturday has announced to open schools in the province on January 12 while at least 46 schools of A+ and as many as 650 schools of A category lack the security measures which were ensured to the people by the government. The government institutions lack proper enclosures.
According to the details, the educational institutions will open on January 12 without the necessary security measures while they were closed for security reasons. As many as 1,200 schools of A+ category have necessary security measures whereas at least 53,003 schools still lack required protection for the students that was promised by the Punjab government.
Minister for Education, Rana Mashood mentioned about the security of A+ schools while he was given an extension of at least one and a half month for the rest of the schools of the province. There are government schools that lack boundaries altogether whereas the government had ensured the people of lifting the walls at least eight feet higher.
The government provided at least Rs 2 billion to adopt security measures in A+ schools while the government schools where majority of the province studies have been left unattended. Executive District Officer (EDO) Lahore Pervaiz Akhtar said that a gardener or a clerk could perform the duties and tasks, a guard is supposed to perform.
