ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar will leave for Turkey on December 16 (Sunday) on an official tour.
He will be visiting the friendly state on a special invitation extended by President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey.
He will also attend an annual spiritual night Shab-e-Arus organized in Konya, Turkey to commemorate Maulana Roomi, on 17th December at the invitation of Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
Moreover, after attending the annual spiritual night, the Chief Justice will proceed to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah.
The foreign visit of Pakistan’s Chief Justice comes days after he reached Pakistan from the United Kingdom on Nov 29 where he led a fundraising campaign for the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
On Nov 21, the Chief Justice reached Britain where he attended the first event of the campaign at Lincoln’s Inn. He went to another event held by the ‘Centre for Policy Dimensions’ the next day.
The Chief Justice managed to collect millions of rupees as donations from overseas Pakistan to construct dams.
The top judge is actively searching for funds for the construction of dams as experts have warned that Pakistan would dry out after 2025 if adequate measures are not taken.
The bank account bearing account No.03-593-299999-001-4 and IBN No. PK06SBPP0035932999990014 was opened after the CJP was briefed about the worsening water crisis in the country which could only be capped by the construction of new dams.
The CJP donated Rs 1 million for the dams fund and asked the countrymen to follow the suite. pakistan’s armed forces have contributed Rs 1 billion for the cause.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has also urged the citizens to actively take part and donate to the fund so that the dams should be built to save future generations.
