KARACHI – Police in Sindh capital have announced the arrest of a couple, allegedly involved in stealing cars, car batteries and sound systems.
The Clifton Police on Thursday arrested Shoaib Ahmed alias Ali, son of Faiz Muhammad, and his wife Saeeda Salma Zehra, in an operation in DHA Phase II extension commercial street number 2, SP Suhai Aziz said at a press conference.
The police also seized weapons, two bullets, a stolen car with registration number ABN 681 and batteries from their possession.
Ahmed had completed intermediate level education while Zehra was a graduate of the University of Karachi with a bachelor’s in commerce, according to the police.
Both were affiliated with the media with Zehra also having worked in several private news channels as a news anchor. Aziz said that the couple sold the stolen items to pay for Ice drug. She added that they did not even have a house to live in, spent the nights on footpaths.
The woman accused denies the allegations, questioning why she was being punished if her husband had committed the crime.
