ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has filed a defamation suit against anchorperson Najam Sethi for disseminating misleading propaganda about his personal life.
The Prime Minister had directed eminent legal expert Dr. Babar Awan on Saturday to file a 10 billion rupees defamation suit against the journalist.
Lawyer for the Prime Minister, Dr. Babar Awan complied with the directives and said fake news will not be tolerated at all; Awan shared that he expects Najam Sethi to defend his ‘indecent’ claims in court.
The veteran journalist responded on Twitter that he was waiting for justice for a suit filed by him against the PTI chief over latter’s claims of election rigging in 2013.

Najam Sethi had claimed in his show on Channel 24 in March this year that Bushra Maneka and Imran Khan were about to part ways, however, their marriage survived.
But even after the tempers cooled at Bani Gala, Sethi continued, the First Couple engaged in a verbal spat.

Imran and Bushra tied the knot last year in a private ceremony in Lahore. The cricketer-turned-politician earlier married Reham Khan and Jemima Goldsmith, but both the marriages ended in a split.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) had also issued orders to the channel to air an apology within seven days through its show as penance for what the regulator described as a propagation of false news about the prime minister.
The authority stated that the decision was taken following a complaint lodged by Prime Minister Imran Khan at Pemra’s Council of Complaints.
