LAHORE – Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment has dismissed a case against Pakistan’s former human rights minister Dr Shireen Mazari, months after she was arrested in broad daylight from outside her house in the country’s federal capital.
The officials earlier accused the PTI leader of transferring 800 Kanal fraudulently through bogus mutation in the name of a bogus company, however, Islamabad High Court released Mazari and ordered the federal government to hold a judicial inquiry into her arrest.
The outspoken politician approached the High Court saying the corruption case against was political victimization. Dr Mazari also maintained that she was never asked to provide clarification and that her name only surfaced during the investigation process.
