KARACHI – The commissioning parade of naval cadets of the 120th Midshipmen was held at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi on Saturday.
During the event, Sword of Honour and other prestigious medals were awarded to top performer.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf was the chief guest on the occasion. He was received by senior Navy officials.
Addressing the passing out ceremony, CNs said the armed forces have power to crush terrorism and are committed to it. He mentioned that Indian Ocean is emerging as a possible field of future conflicts, and added the effects of this situation may be in the region and beyond.
Pakistan Navy is acquiring modern technology for maritime security and dealing with the situation, he said.
CNS said the acquisition of Hungor class submarine is very important for the protection of Pakistan’s maritime boundaries, the inclusion of Hungor class submarine will increase the capability of Pakistan Navy in the region.
The naval chief also mentioned that AI platforms and other technologies are next step to sixth generation warfare, and added that Pakistan is facing multifaceted security challenges on internal and external fronts, rapidly changing regional geopolitics and growing terrorism are affecting economy, and security.
