DUBAI (News Desk) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan took up the issue of cancellation of Pakistan’s bilateral series with India with International Cricket Council (ICC) during the recent of ICC board meeting in Dubai, Indian media reported while quoting unnamed source in BCCI.
According to reports, Khan said that if Indian cricket board was required to seek a permission from government for playing with Pakistan, it should not have signed an MoU with PCB to play six series. If India could host Pakistan in events like World T20, why it cannot play a bilateral series with Pakistan? the PCB chief asked participants of meeting.
He further hinted at demanding the ICC to arrange Pakistan’s matches in forthcoming World T20 in Sri Lanka or Bangladesh instead of India, adding that our government has also barred us from sending team to India without permission. No government permission has yet been granted to PCB to send team to India to play World T20 matches, he added.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Pakistan and India have not played any bilateral cricket series since 2007. Both nations were scheduled to play an ODI and one T20 series in December 2015. However BCCI cancelled the series linking it to permission from Indian government.
