The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has officially announced the venues for the much-anticipated three-match Test series between Pakistan and England, dispelling rumors that the series might be relocated to the UAE.
Speculation had been rife that the series, set to commence on October 7, would be shifted to the UAE due to ongoing renovations at several stadiums in Pakistan. However, Naqvi confirmed that the matches will likely be held in Multan and Rawalpindi, with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) expressing their satisfaction with the arrangements.
The series, which runs from October 7 to October 28, is a crucial part of the ICC World Test Championship, adding extra significance to the matches.
England’s head coach, Brendon McCullum, had earlier expressed disappointment over the uncertainty regarding the tour during a press conference before England’s third Test against Sri Lanka. With the confirmation of venues, both teams can now focus on the competition ahead.
