India defeated Pakistan by 2-1 in the final group stage match of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024 at Moji, China, on Saturday.
With this victory in a thrilling match, India entered the semi-final round unbeaten. Pakistan have already qualified for the semis.
In today’s match, Ahmad Nadeem put Pakistan into the lead by posting a goal in the eighth minute. Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh however turned the game into his side’s favour with two penalty corner goals in the first half.
India maintained the lead till final quarter, beating Pakistan 2-1.
Previously, Pakistan’s first two matches against Malaysia and South Korea ended in draw. The Team Green later beat Japan and China to secure second spot on points table.
India had entered the today’s match unbeaten as they defeated China, Japan, Korea and Malaysia in their previous four matches.
