TEHRAN – Amid rise in tensions, Iran warned Israel of “crushing attacks” if Prime Minister Netanyahu plans to retaliate against recent missile strike on Tel Aviv.
Reports in international media said Iran used medium-range ballistic missiles in its strike on Tel Aviv, while some mentioned use of Fatah hypersonic missile in the attack. Tehran issued a statement about the attacks, calling it a befitting response to the killings of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas chief Haniyeh.
Israel’s armed forces and government pledged to respond, with spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stating they are prepared to act at a time and place of their choosing. He further denounced that while many missiles were intercepted, some successfully struck areas.
Israel allies US and other countries cautioned that such actions would carry serious repercussions for Iran. This incident marks Iran’s second military action against Israel since an earlier missile and drone assault in April, which followed an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
Iran stated that the deaths of Nasrallah and General Abbas Nilforoushan, a high-ranking commander in the Quds Force, would not go unanswered, with their deaths resulting from an Israeli strike in Beirut last Friday.
As tensions continue to rise, the international community is closely monitoring the situation, with fears of further conflict in the region.
