Shaheen Afridi Babar Azam Among Key Players Likely To Be Rested For Second England Test

KARACHI – Pakistan’s disappointing performance against England prompted a stern response from the PCB as board members now decided to give rest to out-of-form players including star player Babar Azam and ace pace Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The major decision comes on heels of Pakistan’s defeat in the first Test, raising questions about the team’s strategy moving forward. The official squad announcement will be made after discussions with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

It was reported that selection committee had a word with the head coach and other officials including Shan Massod regarding the team’s future direction, ahead of the second Test.

Shan Masood, who is also struggling to lead, is likely to be removed. After six consecutive defeats, including several notable losses, speculation is rife about a potential leadership change. Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha are reportedly being considered for the skipper’s role.

Board officials mulled major restructuring in selection committee as well. As the team prepares for the next challenge against England, all eyes will be on how these decisions unfold and their impact on Pakistan’s performance in the Test arena.
