217kg naswar seized as illegal factory raided in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah

RIYADH – Authorities in Saudi Arabia conducted a raid on an illegally operated ‘naswar’ factory and confiscated a significant quantity of the product.

Arab media reported the Jeddah municipality took the action against the factory and seized 217 kilograms of naswar.

During the operation, several foreign nationals were arrested. The suspects had allegedly converted their residence into a naswar production facility. They were also producing other substances illegally.

Officials confirmed that the confiscated naswar has been destroyed, and the detained individuals have been handed over to the police for further action.

Last year, naswar was added to the list of illegal narcotics under the new law across all Arab nations in the Middle East, according to the Anti-Narcotics Force.

According to ANF, under the new rule, anyone who posses Naswar will be charged with an offence and face harsh punishment.

Therefore, it is forbidden for Pakistani nationals to travel there with Naswar.
