New Zealand Beat West Indies By 8 Runs To Qualify For Womens T20 World Cup Final

DUBAI – New Zealand defeated West Indies by 8 runs to qualify for the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

In the second semi-final of the World Cup held at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first against the West Indies, scoring 128 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Georgia Plimmer (33) and Suzie Bates (26) were the top scorers for New Zealand.

Chasing a target of 129, the West Indies managed 120 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Deandra Dottin was the top scorer for the West Indies with 33 runs.

For New Zealand, Eden Carson took 3 wickets, and Amelia Kerr claimed 2 wickets.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final will be played between South Africa and New Zealand on October 20 in Dubai.
