DI KHAN (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday inaugurated a 285-kilometre motorway project to connect Dera Ismail Khan to Hakla area.
The project, which will be completed in two years at a cost of over Rs. 129 billion, is part of the western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
According to the details provided to Daily Pakistan, the motorway will pass through Pindi Gheb, Sawan, Mianwali, Rokhri, Rehmani Khel and will terminate at Yarik (DI Khan).
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
During the inauguration, the PM took aim at Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf for their agitational politics, questioning how his opponents would build a Naya Pakistan when they could not even make a Naya KP. He predicted that the province would slip away from the PTI in the upcoming General Elections in 2018.
In addition to the motorway project, the Prime Minister also announced the construction of an Agricultural University and an international airport in DI Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, JUI-F chief Moulana Fazal Ur Rehman said we will not allow anyone to conspire against the democratic system.
Questioning the loyalties of PTI chief Imran Khan, he said “Instead of supporting a Pakistani Muslim [i.e. Sadiq Khan], Imran Khan campaigned for his Jewish brother in law [in the recently concluded mayoral elections in London].”
