Famous Indian actor Boman Irani backs out of Pakistani film citing date issues

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Famous bollywood star Boman Irani has decided not to appear in his first Pakistani film in solidarity with Kabir Khan, who was embarrassed at Karachi airport earlier last month.

However, information coming out of the actor’s camp seems to suggest otherwise.

“Boman backed out citing date issues,” said a source close to the actor.

He added that Irani regretted his decision to back out given his fondness for the young and “talented” director Azaan. The source, however, states that Irani had “no choice” in the matter.

Zeba Bakhtiyar’s son Azaan Sami Khan is all set for his directional debut through this film.

Azaan’s debut is not likely to be impacted greatly by Irani’s decision to pull out of the film as he is planning to cast a Pakistani actor to replace the Indian film star.

He also cited date issues behind Irani’s pull out from the film.

He also downplayed any link with the Kabir Khan incident.

“The Kabir Khan incident was a one-off incident, sensationalised by the media from both sides of the border” he said.

Azaan had earlier wanted to cast Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan in his film for another role but couldn’t get through to him.

He said that shooting would start from September once the cast was finalized.
