ISLAMABAD – Under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, a key consultative meeting decided to establish Women Facilitation Centers in court complexes nationwide, providing legal assistance and mediation services to women under one roof.
According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court, the meeting also discussed a national design competition for the centers. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi said the centers will offer a safe environment for female litigants within judicial complexes.
The statement noted that architects and experts have been invited to submit proposals for the design competition, with privacy and security being the top priority.
Senior judicial leadership and gender experts attended the meeting. The Registrar of the Supreme Court and all High Courts have been instructed to review infrastructure, while the Institute of Architects will soon launch the national design competition.
The chief justice emphasized that the Women Facilitation Centers will be a significant milestone in delivering justice.
