KARACHI – In Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta Gladiators by 8 wickets.
In the match played at the National Stadium Karachi, Zalmi chased the target of 155 runs in the 19th over with the loss of 2 wickets.
Captain Babar Azam was the standout performer for Zalmi, scoring an unbeaten 71 runs. Mohammad Haris scored 35 runs while Kusal Mendis made 21 runs before getting out. Aaron Hardie remained not out on 18 runs.
For the Gladiators, Saud Shakeel and Alzarri Joseph took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators, batting first on Zalmi’s invitation, were bowled out for 154 runs in the allotted overs.
For Gladiators, Hasan Nawaz top-scored with 37 runs. Rilee Rossouw made 26, Khawaja Nafay 20, captain Saud Shakeel 16, Tom Curran 15, Alzarri Joseph 6, Jahandad Khan 6, Ahsan Ali 4, and Usman Tariq 1.
For Zalmi, Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Basit took 3 wickets each, while Iftikhar Ahmed claimed 1 wicket.
