KARACHI – The Sindh School Education Department has issued a new circular revising the timings of government schools across the province.
According to the circular, the new timings will take effect immediately from August 6, 2026. All government schools across Sindh have been directed to strictly follow the revised schedule, which will remain in force until further orders.
The circular sets separate timings for single- and double-shift schools, with different schedules for primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary institutions.
According to the department, single-shift primary schools will remain open from 8am to 2:30pm from Monday to Thursday, while Friday timings will be from 8am to 1pm from August 6 to October 31.
From November 1 to March 31, the same schools will operate from 8:30am to 3pm.
The circular also specifies timings for the first and second shifts of double-shift primary schools.
For double-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, the first shift will run from 7:30am to 1:30pm from August 6 to October 31. From November 1 to March 31, the first shift will operate from 8am to 1:45pm.
The Sindh School Education Department has also revised timings for single-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools and directed all concerned officials and school heads to ensure immediate implementation of the new schedule.
