Pakistani flag hoisted in India at Independence Day ceremony

NEW DELHI (News Desk) – A ceremony in connection with Pakistan’s Independence Day was held at Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi on Sunday.

Pakistani High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, unfurled the national flag. Hundreds of other distinguished guests were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, he said Pakistan will continue extending political, diplomatic, and moral support to the people of occupied Kashmir for their right to self-determination.

He said Pakistan has dedicated this Independence Day to the Kashmiris.

At one point, he reiterated that Pakistan is wishful of establishing friendly ties with India, however, the other side needs to give some positive gesture.

Similar Independence Day celebrations have also been held at the Pakistan embassy in Kabul, where Ambassador Ibrar Hussain hoisted the national flag.
