ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) on Friday rejected the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Domestic Violence bill, citing reasons that it was in contradictions with the Shariah.
According to the press released issued by the Council stated that it had rejected the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Domestic Violence bill. It was also stated that the reasons for rejecting the bill had been sent to the government.
“The bill is declined on account of being conflicting to the Shariah” the press release added.
The K-P government had sent the bill for acceptance to the Council of Islamic Ideology, which is a constitutional body that advises the legislature whether or not a law is repugnant or in contradiction with the laws of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah.
