ISLAMABAD – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Finance has signed the latest amendment on September 16 to the Pakistan Enhanced Partnership Agreement (PEPA), to provide development assistance to Pakistan.
This agreement provides an additional $407 million to support US and Pakistan government initiatives to improve critical infrastructure, economic opportunities, and pursue economic and political reforms that promote prosperity.
The USAID programs to be supported through this agreement were developed in consultation with the Pakistani government and support the Government of Pakistan’s Vision 2025, which sets forth a roadmap for a prosperous Pakistan.
Over the past decade, the United States, through USAID, has provided Pakistan with nearly $7.7 billion of funding for development and humanitarian relief, making Pakistan one of America’s largest recipients of foreign assistance.-Online
