Gold smuggling bid foiled at Benazir Bhutto International Airport

ISLAMABAD – Custom officials have foiled a major bid to smuggle gold at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, recovered over 60 tolas of gold from a passenger.

Upon observing suspicious movements of a traveller, the customs personnel decided to conduct checking and recovered approximately 63 tolas of gold worth over Rs3.2 million from his jacket on Wednesday.

The Airport Security Force (ASF) has apprehended the suspect and shifted him to an unknown location for interrogation. The passenger, identified as Liaqat, was travelling to Islamabad from Muscat.
