Killing of Kim Jong-nam: Woman with Vietnam passport held in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR – A suspected woman carrying a Vietnamese passport was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the assassination of a half-brother of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, Malaysia’s police chief said.

Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar said in a statement she was arrested at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Khalid said the arrested woman had a Vietnamese passport in the name of Doan Thi Huong born on May 31, 1988.

The suspect was “positively identifed from the CCTV footage at the airport and was alone at the time of arrest,” Khalid added.

Kim Jong-nam, the estranged brother of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, assassinated in Malaysia on Monday.

It is being reported that Mr Kim was killed with ‘poisoned needles’ at the airport by two women, who escaped in a taxi.
