TEHRAN – Iran successfully tested a sophisticated Russian-made S-300 air defence system in Damavand military drills on Saturday, IRNA news agency reported.
A number of high-ranking Iranian military officers also attended the exercise which was held in an unnamed air defense base.
Iranian military personnel completely handled the system according to simulation scenarios which replicated detection, identification, tracing, and targeting of the potential aerial threats.
With a range of up to 125 miles, the S-300 is capable of simultaneously tracking and striking multiple targets, the agency added.
Russia fully delivered all parts of S-300 air defense system to Iran and the two countries have agreed to develop logistical and technical cooperation
