RAWALPINDI – At least five terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based raid carried out by Pakistan Rangers Punjab in Dera Ghazi Khan on Sunday.
Punjab Rangers’ Sepoy Kamran embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire between the Rangers and the suspected terrorists, while Deputy Superintendent Rangers Haroon was injured and evacuated to CMH Multan, ISPR said.
“The operation is still in progress,” the military’s media wing added. The killed terrorists were involved in terrorism, murder and attempt to murder incidents.
The raid was carried out as part of the ongoing military offensive, Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. It was launched after a series of deadly bombings across Pakistan killed over 100 people in February.
Earlier today, security forces thwarted a terror plot during an operation near Chaman. At least two suspected terrorists were arrested and around 80 kilograms of explosives were seized during the operation, ISPR said.
