HUM Awards’17: who NAILED amp; who FAILED the Red Carpet

Contributed By: Mina Jahangir

The HUM Awards Red Carpet was a glamorous affair, although not as glamorous as the LSA’17, since Mahira and Fawad were missing, but it did have its moments. While some celebrities tried to climb the ladder of exotic foreign designer labels, several celebs stayed true to their style.

We have scooped up the most strikingly hot, and the strikingly flop style statements spotted on the red carpet.

Shall we take a look?

Nailed It!

Natty sizzled up the red carpet up in a champagne silver turtleneck gown, with a tantalizingly sheer fabric and exquisite pearl embroidery. She flaunted a sexy figure-hugging fit that gave us yet another chance to admire her flawless bod and wonder how she never seems to age. Oh, and bringing in that large-dial watch into a full-sleeved black tie statement, that’s glamour with a capital G!

Nadia made a voguish comeback by gracing the HUM Awards red carpet in this effortlessly hot fish tail skirt and nude sequined blouse. Just look at that mind-blowing weight-transformation, it seems as if the woman has dropped 10 years!

Sanam Chaudhry channeled her Grecian vibes in this gorgeous floor-sweeping gown with a lovely pink and tan palette. It’s only fair to state that she totally nailed the statement with her romantic hairdo and sensual nude make up.

It takes a bold man to flaunt a standout hue like red with confidence, and Osman K Butt is clearly oozing out charm in this graphic red-white blazer. Well played!

Supermodel Nadia Hussain looked straight off the ramp in this sharply structured fish-tail skirt and gorgeous lace peplum top. The dress really did justice to her petite and tall frame.

This graphic white-black blazer worked wonders at energizing Mikaal’s classic formal look.

Mawra’s been getting a lot of criticism for flaunting any and every designer with a long foreign name, but keeping the forun-designer-grudge aside, this tiered tutu gown really does complement her personal style, which is quirky, energetic, and loaded with bubble gum pink.

Maya Ali really surprised us with energetically bright and insanely voguish yellow one-shoulder dress by Nomi Ansari. We had no idea she was such a chic side to her personality, wonder what else she got underneath those Maria B lawns and fancy lehengas.

Ahmed Butt looks like his typical cheerful and larger-than-life self, but its his wife, Fatima, who steals the show with the floor-sweeping glamour of her fish-tail gown, and oh my, she’s certainly killin’ with those exaggerated sleeves!

Ali Gul Pir looks like a dapper WADEREY KA BETA in this dashing all-black statement and printed tux!

Momina set the stage on fire with her gorgeous russet-red locks, and that floor sweeping floral delight of a gown.

Hareem Farooq always plays down her hour-glass figure with free-flowing silhouettes, which is why this cinched up wrap top with exaggerated off-the-shoulder sleeves is a wonderfully refreshing change.

Failed It!

Vaneeza’s statement is a horrible clash between western and eastern trends, and we’re sure it landed somewhere in the land of nowhere. Oh and that choker-necklace most certainly doesn’t belong here!

Hmm. Yellow plaid looks horribly misused for Feroze Khan, doesn’t it?!

This Ali Xeeshan design has been raging since last year, but a film industry veteran like Reema should know better than to drag a bridal number to the red carpet.

As much as we’re glad that Ayesha Khan finally moved away from flaunting bridal attire on the red carpet, this gown does little to flatter her body shape. Only one word comes to mind: awkward!

Let’s be frank. Kubra’s statement is more appropriate for a Valima dinner as opposed to the red carpet. And that awfully puffed up up-do just added more years to her age.
