MQM-L workers confess to killing rivals at party s torture cell

KARACHI – In an explosive revelation, two Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) members confessed to brutally killing political opponents at a torture cell managed by the party.

The disclosure was made in an investigative report by Saleem Chaudhry who admitted that he used to kill people with machetes after kidnapping them.

He stated that after kidnapping an activist, Azad Hasan, from Orangi Town, he killed him with machetes at a torture cell and buried parts of his bodies on a hilltop, Geo News reported.

He also named an accomplice, Iqbal, who had helped him.

Another MQM-L activist, Zaheer, confessed to killing a person in 2008 and accepted his involvement in providing weapons to party unit offices.

Zaheer also maintained that he was involved in a firing in Haroongoth after a dispute and claimed that he was present at Karachi Press Club during August 22, 2016 anti-state speech by Altaf Hussain.

The suspects who were arrested from District West informed that Noorud Din, Hayat, Kamran, Asif Bhayya and a few others were also involved in the killings.

The investigative report said that the suspects named 22 of their accomplices to law enforcement personnel.
