PML-N hatched Dawn leaks deliberately to malign army, claims Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday slammed Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif for giving irresponsible comments regarding Haqqani network and Hafiz Saeed.

Khan in series of tweets, claimed that it is evident by Asif’s comments that the ruling party, PML-N deliberately hatched the conspiracy of Dawn Leaks to defame the military institution of the country just “to appease Indo-US lobby” and serve their interests.

He claimed that all such was happened to save the illegal properties and assets stashed away with “West”.

The PTI chief said that they are targeting the armed forces continuously as part of this Indo-US appeasement, adding, “No concern for Pak lives sacrificed”.

He said  the country does not need enemies if it has such a foreign minister, who claims ownership of militant groups, adding that such comments pose a threat to national security.

Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday while speaking at a session held by Asia Society in New York said that Hafiz Saeed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and the Haqqani network are a liabilities for Pakistan, local media reported.

“It is very easy to say that Pakistan is supporting Haqqanis and Hafiz Saeed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. They are liabilities, I accept that they are liabilities. But give us time to get rid of these liabilities. You are increasing our liabilities further,” said Asif.

Responding to a question regarding Saeed, Asif said: “You have mentioned a name. It’s a proscribed organisation. The gentleman is under house arrest. But I agree with you that on that score, on that account, we have to do more”.
