LAHORE: The Pakistan High Commission on Friday received the bailable arrest warrants issued by the accountability court for ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s three children for not appearing before the court in three corruption references.
The court had summoned the former premier, his children – Maryam, Hussain and Hassan – and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar on Tuesday to attend the hearing of the references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding Avenfield flats in London, Hill Metal Establishment and Azizia Steel Mills.
Nawaz Sharif appeared before the court during the last hearing, but his children could not reach the court as they were in London to visit their ailing mother, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
After failing to appear, the court issued arrest warrants and directed them to submit surety bonds worth Rs1 million each.
Judge Mohammad Bashir also ordered the Sharif children to appear before the court on October 2, the next date of hearing.
On the same day, the accountability court to indict Nawaz sharif in the three references.
