Georgina Chapman, the British fashion designer and wife of 65 year old Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has announced a split from her husband amidst the sexual harassment scandal. Harvey Weinstein has been accused of sexually harassing young aspiring actresses for almost three decades.
Harvey Weinstein, the co-founder of Miramax and producer of films including blockbusters like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Shakespeare in Love, and Scream, was sacked from his own company by the board members – The Weinstein Company on Sunday following theallegations. Since then, many actresses from the Hollywood circle have come forward recounting Weinstein’s unwelcome advances towards them.

Among the list are Gweynth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie.
Paltrow was 22 when she worked with Weinstein in “Emma”. Being born in Hollywood reality, she always saw Weinstein as “Uncle Harvey”. Harvey asked her to visit his suite at Beverly Hills hotel where he made unwanted advances and later told her to keep quiet after she told her then boyfriend Brad Pitt about it.
“I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified. I thought you were my Uncle Harvey,” Paltrow recalls. “He screamed at me for a long time. It was brutal. I was expected to keep the secret.”
Angelina Jolie recounts something similar to Paltrow’s ordeal. She did “Playing by Heart” with Harvey in the 1990s and rejected him when her made advances in a hotel room during the release of Playing by Heart.
Jolie said, “I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did. This behaviour towards women in any field, any country, is unacceptable.”
Georgina Chapman , has her own label “Marchesa” since 2007. The couple have two children. Before his marriage to Georgina, Harvey was married to Eve Chilton for over 20 years. they both have three children together.
Georgina Champan said in a statement announcing their split, “My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”
